Daniel taught everyone how to dance
Yeah I never thought I’d hear myself say that! As some of ya’ll know… white boy can’t dance! And I mean that in the nicest way possible but poor Daniel. He just looks like he’s flailing around sometimes and I’m probably a little too quick to tell him to please stop.
Yesterday was a first for Daniel… he preached his very first official sermon and yeah it was about dancing! You know I’ve been proud of him in the past but it was hard to control myself yesterday. I was just SOOO proud of him! He spent a lot of time studying and practicing and I really think he heard something from God and did a great job of sharing it with everyone! AND he didn’t even appear nervous in the least bit! I wanted to throw up half of the day just being nervous for him.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m a lucky girl! Not too many girls can say that their husbands are truly seeking Jesus!!!
And if you’re curious how Daniel taught us to dance, you’ll just have to listen to the message on www.journeypointe.com Hopefully it’ll be up for you to download in a couple of days

Daily Reading
Some things I’ve been learning from my daily reading (currently in Matthew)…
Jesus spent a lot of time criticizing religious leaders.
- “They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.” (23:4)
- “Everything they do is for show.” (23:7)
- “…you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. (23:13-14)
- “…you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith.” (23:23-24)
- “…you are indeed the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Go ahead and finish what your ancestors started.” (23:31-33)
Isn’t it interesting that it was the “religious” people of the day that put Jesus to death?

Update
So yeap… went and worked out again yesterday afternoon. So my legs aren’t near as sore… but now my arms and back are! haha I guess this is going to take a little while to get used to being sore all of the time.
The place was packed out yesterday. First time we’ve been there when a lot of people were there. But we were still able to get on whatever we wanted without waiting. It’s kinda funny because I really am looking forward to Friday when we get to go back and work out our legs and abs
I’ll probably regret that Saturday!!

I’m STILL sore
Is that normal? It’s been almost 72 hours since my butt-kicking workout. I swear I think it just keeps getting worse! One of my legs is just driving me nuts. Everytime I stand, that leg just goes to jelly. I think it’s complicated by wearing heals but didn’t figure that one out until I was already at work, wearing the heals!
So what am I going to do to make it feel better? Subject myself to another butt-kicking workout. It’s funny how doing the very thing that hurts the worst at the present will make it feel better in the future. I’ll let you know tomorrow whether I’m able to walk! haha

So we joined a gym…
Yeah! I don’t even know what to say. I’ll just say that I’m definitely feeling the effects of joining the gym. Daniel and I had been talking for awhile about joining the new LA Fitness near our house and finally just decided to check it out. So Crystal and I went up there Friday night and heard their sales pitch. I do have to say… I’m totally impressed… so far! We have received SOOO much individualized attention. Everyone’s SUPER friendly and very helpful. We’ve been to gyms in the past filled with body builders, bimbos, and stuck up staff… but this one’s a lot more um… normal
So we got sold on the idea mostly because I can’t believe how cheap it is and the fact that you don’t sign any contracts with them. But anyways, they give you the services of a personal trainer for an hour when you first join. So that was a fun experience if you call tears, sweat, and trying your hardest not to throw up “fun”. But hey… no pain, no gain. Not really accustomed to having someone yell at me but it was very motivating! But trainer dude also gave tons of advice and education on what will work best for me. So it was nice to have a very tailor-made plan of action.
Anyhoo… I’ll keep you posted on all of our efforts to get buff like Daniel

Random Thoughts
I know I’m so far behind on my DVR stuff but did anyone else catch that the American Idols sang Shout to the Lord last week??? That’s crazy! I had it on yesterday while I was doing some other things and started singing along before I realized uh they are singing about Jesus! Pretty cool!!!
I’m SOOO glad it’s finally Friday! It’s been one of those weeks that you think will never end.
Looking forward to tomorrow. Crystal and I are taking the youth girls up to Perimeter Mall and the Cheesecake Factory! Fun times – what more could you ask for: cheesecake and shopping!! Doesn’t get much better than that. Even Daniel threatened to tag along. I told him that just because he was the youth pastor didn’t mean that he got to crash the girl outtings.
Brian’s trying to grow a mohawk and dye it bright red! Daniel’s his official hairdresser! Best quote of the night (from Daniel to Brian): “Dude I’m not going to straddle you”. heheheh

So I Had a Bad Day
Do you ever just have one of those days where you just want to quit it all? Yeah I had one of those yesterday! You know most days my job isn’t really that stressful. I deal with deadlines and stuff but normally I work well under pressure so that doesn’t bother me. However, there’s this small portion of my job where I have to deal with listening to people complain about the treatment they received. This is NOT my favorite part of my job. Most of the time it’s just people whining about whatever and if you know me at all you know I don’t tolerate whining very well. Well normally I only get a couple of complaints a month so not too bad.
Well here comes my whining
Yesterday was a different story. I took FOUR!!! In one day… except most of these weren’t just people whining… they had actual problems that they needed help fixing. So my entire afternoon was spent listening to people’s problems (don’t psychiatrists get paid a lot better than me? hmm), and then begging other people to do their parts to fix them, and then when they couldn’t calling the patients back and being the bad guy which never goes over very well. So yeah FUN DAY! And on top of all of that I didn’t feel very well AT ALL! And NO I’m not pregnant
Probably won’t be eating Taco Bell anytime soon!
So I’m hoping today will be better than yesterday!!

I’m a Lucky Girl
MY HUSBAND ROCKS!!! He’s probably going to die from embarrassment when he finds out that I posted this about him, but not only is he super buff
he really is a GREAT husband! One of the churches we get a chance to visit occasionally is doing a series just for men. Their Pastor, Perry Noble, is an incredible speaker and he doesn’t hold back, even a little! So Daniel and I both try to catch his pod-casts.
Yesterday I was listening to one of the messages from the Man Series entitled “Protectile Dysfunction” – gotta love that title! It was all about the husband’s role in protecting his wife and family (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) and Perry was touching on some very touchy issues and was obviously challenging the heck out of some husbands. All throughout listening to this all I could think of was “Wow, Daniel doesn’t have that problem” “Wow, Daniel doesn’t have that problem either”… you know there wasn’t one thing in that message that I thought “oh I’d elbow Daniel over that one” WOW!!!
The coolest part about it was the conversation that Daniel and I had about the message last night. I was telling him how awesome I thought it was that my husband didn’t have any of those problems and you know what he said? He went on to tell me that while he was listening to that message he was thinking to himself that he needed to work on all of those different areas!! I’m a lucky girl!!! I think my husband is great but he’s still striving to be better than great!

If you don’t have any problems, you don’t have any potential…
More good stuff from reading Mark Batterson’s “In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day”…
“At face value, landing in a pit with a lion on a snowy day is a massive problem. In fact, for most of us, it would be the last problem we ever have! But sometimes the biggest problems present the greatest opportunities for God to reveal his glory and work His purposes. No one likes being in the pits or put out to pasture, but maybe God is developing character and honing skills that will serve you later in life.”
“I have a theory: The more problems you have, the more potential you have to help people. One of the most paralyzing mistakes we make is thinking that our problems somehow disqualify us from being used by God. Let me just say it like it is: If you don’t have any problems, you don’t have any potential.”
“What you feel is a result of what you focus on.” (Talking about how if your focused on the insurmountability – is that a word? – of your problem you will “feel” beat down. On the other hand if you’re focused on potential benefits from your problem you will feel better about it.)

Relaxing Spa Day or Not
Don’t you hate it when you think you’re going to get a nice relaxing massage and it ends up being more like a torture session!?! I THOUGHT I only had a few neck knots to get out but turns out pretty much my entire body was messed up! At one point I asked her if there was any part of me that wasn’t knotted up! She didn’t really say much! So I’m a little sore. Even my hand hurts today! What the heck? I guess from so much typing?? So masseuse lady said I need to have one every 4-6 weeks or I might have permanent muscle damage later in life… I’m 27!!!!!!! What’s the deal? I don’t really feel that stressed out!
