Ramblings

  • My baby sister is turning 16 TOMORROW!!!! I remember when… just kidding… I was going to say something about it “feeling like yesterday I was wiping her butt” but figured I’d refrain. Happy Birthday ALICIA!!!! :)
  • In exactly 4 weeks from now we leave for vacation! I’m having a hard time containing myself! :)
  • I’m SOOO ready for our students to be back from their summer vacations and back in the school routine! Our attendance at Fusion has been well… um… not so good. I’m ready to get back in the swing of things…
  • This is the first weekend in a long time where I just want to hurry up and get it over with! Haha That sounds bad I know, but this weekend is going to be NUTS! JPC is having a huge event this weekend and I’m wore out already! We’ll be up at the butt crack of dawn Saturday and Sunday setting up and it’s supposed to be upper 90’s all weekend! YAY :(
  • I’m in a slight panic that people might not come to this shindig we have planned for this weekend… that always makes me want to throw up a little knowing all the money we’ve spent! Oh ye of little faith…
  • Excited about the Braves game Friday night… we’ll have some incredible seats right behind home plate so that’s always fun… except for the part where we’ll be out really late and then up really early to set up :(
  • Anyhoo… that’s enough randomness for today!

I wish every parent would read this…

I came across this the other day from a dude up at Granger Community.

Parental Influence on a Teen

Highlights… Advice for surviving a teen: get involved with a great church with strong youth leaders, don’t give teens the option to stay home from youth events, put your teen in situations where they hang out with youth who are following God, teach them to serve, let them participate in events that will help them take the next step spiritually. GREAT stuff!!!

Movie Review

Can I just say that it’s been over a week since I saw The Dark Knight and I’m still raving to people about how good it was. I’m SUCH a dork! I seriously almost dragged Daniel to see it again this weekend! That’s highly abnormal for me to be so pumped up about a comic book movie!

My new favorite thing…

Yeap… I’ve given in. I kept hearing about how WONDERFUL Google’s Gmail was and kept getting increasingly frustrated with my hotmail account, so I finally decided to try it out.

AND I’m loving it so far… instead of having a bazillion folders to help organize all of your emails, it throws EVERYTHING into an “all mail” folder when you’re done reading it. Then when you want to find something, all you do is use the google-type search within your emails using a keyword and it pulls up anything related! Yeah… loving that!!

And the second reason I’m loving it is… within my email there’s a “reader” tab where it keeps track of all of the blogs I want to read. It sorts them in this wonderful little folder and only gives me new content. It’s SOO very nice to have everything I want to read in one little spot, where I can peruse what I want to read and leave the rest. Also… that nice little search feature in your email, works the same on the “reader” page too! YAY :) So if I remember I wanted to reference something about say “wordpress”, you can type it in, and it will bring up every blog that has that word in it! So nice!! You can also color little stars on blogs that you want to not forget about.

So yeap… having a little too much fun getting organized! :)

Kids Camp Story

I don’t know how K5 teachers do it? They must constantly have to squelch their laughter!!

This is a conversation I had with one of our 6 year old girls this week.

Girl – “Tiffany, my stomach hurts”

me – “oh no, where does it hurt?”

Girl – “right here (pointing to the top of her stomach)”

Girl – “but then it’s going to go down here (pointing to the bottom of her stomach)”

Girl – “and then it will go poof (pointing to her bottom) because it’s just gas”

She said this with the most serious face ever. I almost died laughing!!

WOW!

It’s been a crazy few days! JP is having Kids Camp this week, which I knew would be exhausting. BUT I can’t believe how much fun I’m having. Crystal and I have K5 and 1st graders which I LOOOOOOVE! We have such a great group of kids. Definitely my favorite age group of kids ever. They are SOOO sweet and I know we must have at least 5 group hugs a night! There’s nothing like being constantly loved on by kids!

And I LOOOVE watching these kids sing at the top of their lungs. I told Daniel yesterday that we should so have the kids come worship with the adults on Sunday nights so they can show the adults how it should be done! I can’t remember hearing people worship any louder than this week! It’s been a blast! haha – that’s the name of our kids ministry! I just got that. :)

Crazy Week

Yeah it’s been one of those weeks where I’m just exhausted!!

Sunday was the only semi-calm day of the week… it rained therefore we stayed in and watched movies. Then we went and passed out flyers until it rained on us and then did the whole church thing.

Anyways, Monday was up at 5, work, aqua fit at the gym, not home until 9:00 kinda night. Tuesday was up at 5, work, funeral home for a family night thing, leadership team meeting, not home until 8:30. Wednesday was up at 5, work, youth leader meeting, youth, not home until 8:30. Thursday was up at 5, work, kick-butt step class at the gym, outreach team meeting, not home until 9:00. If I’m not able to be home for an hour or two of non-sleeping time this week we’re going to have to buy more towels and clothes!!! RIDICULOUS!!!! When will it ever slow down??? And I wonder why I seem to live for the weekends!!

I’ve Decided

not to tell Daniel where we’re going! He actually posted a comment on my blog (see comment on Dilemma post)… so that just about says it all. YAY :) I really didn’t want to tell him!!
