I finally did something productive

Yeap so yesterday I took down all of the Christmas decorations, cleaned the kitchen, our bedroom, and the living room! That’s pretty dang productive for cleaning on a vacation! Then we drove to Peachtree City to have something to do, ate at Five Guys (pretty yummy), and then went home and watched Tropic Thunder. Uh yeah that was one of the most boring stupid movies ever. I’m really glad we didn’t spend money to go to the theaters to watch that piece of junk! AND Daniel beat me AGAIN at contract rummy… I’m having terrible luck lately!

Today I dragged Daniel (well he pretended I was dragging him but we all know he secretly wanted to go) to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button… Oh my gosh I cried… not the pretty crying either. It was SOOO sad. Pretty cool movie. Kinda blown away how they made Brad Pitt and the other chick age so much during the movie. I remember looking at Daniel at one point and asking how the heck they made Brad Pitt look so little. Anyhoo… Daniel just got a new game for his XBOX 360 so we’re going to go try to kill each other! haha jk

It’s 11:07 and I’m still in bed

I’m SOOO lazy! We didn’t wake up until 10:38 but I’m still in bed! haha Daniel’s making breakfast and I’m loving this week. We are going to have some serious problems when we have to get back in our normal routine

So yesterday we had both been wanting The Varsity for awhile so since we’re trying to live it up this week before we start our big new years resolutions next week of eating better (haha we’re waiting until Monday – good start huh?)… anyways… we headed up there for some hotdogs, picked up tickets to the Hawks game, and then went up to Discover Mills. The bad news? Steve and Barry’s is going out of business so no more great deals like this one… two pairs of jeans, two sweaters, one pair of swim shorts, and one sweatshirt for $47!!! CRAZY!!! Gosh I love that store… AND Daniel finally managed to find a pair of shoes… which worked out well for me because Adidas was having a buy one get 50% off second thing… so I got the 50% off…

Then we headed to the Hawks game (they won)… the game was a lot of fun! And I was reminded that we should go to more basketball games instead of always going to the Braves… so much more interesting! AND Young Jeezy, Lala Vasquez, Dave Chapelle, and Otis Nixon were there!

It was a good day! Wonder what we’ll do today?!?

I just have to say it…

for those of you who are slaving away back at work today, I’m truly sorry for what I’m about to say! It’s SOOOO freakin’ amazing to be off work this week!!! ha

No really… it’s so nice to be able to stay up as late as we want, sleep in as late as we want, and be completely spontaneous. Normally we don’t get to have near as much freedom. COMPLETELY enjoying every second!

Anyways, now that that’s off my chest, did everyone see Daniel’s tattoo? It’s finally to the point now where I can touch it without him wincing. YAY! Funny sidebar… Daniel asked the guy that did his tattoo if he had many youth pastors come in for tattoos… Daniel was fully expecting the answer to be “uh not too many”. But the guy said he has done a lot!! His best friend is the youth pastor of a local church around here and he’s done all of his work!

Alrighty… I better go drag Daniel away from his XBOX 360 so we can head off for some spontaneous adventure!

Yeap… he got the tattoo… AND it wasn’t even near as painful as he had built up in his head it would be. Looks pretty cool, huh?

So my sweetie’s getting a tattoo

Yeap… he’s been thinking about it for probably a year now! He’s figured out exactly what he wants and is planning on getting it while we’re off work for the holidays.

So… what does any good wife do when her husband is about to brand his body for life? She buys him temporary tattoo paper! haha So we spent last night putting different sizes of the design that he wants all over his body! I think we nailed it though! It’s gonna look pretty sweet!

So if you’re wondering why Daniel has a lion stamped on his foot…

Weekend Update

Yes I know it’s Wednesday already… but it occurred to me that I haven’t blogged yet this week! Woops!! Anyhoo… this weekend was quite the special weekend. Just about half of my family came in to hang out with us for the weekend. Here’s some highlights!

• Dialogue in the Dark is SOOO much fun with sisters! 4 girls + no sight + 4 canes (weapons) = an obnoxious amount of giggles (I’m sure we annoyed the snot out of the rest of the group.) Can I just say that our guide was absolutely amazing… he could sense and hear EVERYTHING! We were in excellent hands!
• The one thing that amazes me the most about the Bodies Exhibition is how the heck people can see that and believe it just poof’ed into being!
• Did you know that smoking one pack of cigarettes takes 3 1/2 minutes off your life? CRAZY!
• Daniel is a FOR REAL ordained minister now! Which makes me an ordained minister’s wife! What the heck??? When did that happen? I never would have saw that coming 10 years ago! haha Anyhoo… I’m so proud of him!
• We survived Christmas shopping the Saturday before Christmas and also broke the record for longest amount of time spent in a Best Buy store… I think we were in there for about 13.735 hours… okay slight exaggeration.
• Daniel and Tim fixed us chicken fajitas one night! Yeap… I said it… “and Tim” – that boy can make some mean rice and cheese dip! haha
• We had a little bit of a present wrapping party… so look out Daniel! Alicia and I individually wrapped everything in your stocking! haha

Okay so…

If it’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year [insert song ] then why is everybody so grumpy? Could it be that it takes twice the time to get home now because of all of the frantic shoppers… or maybe it’s all of the bruises on people’s back sides from getting hit by grocery carts by the frantic shoppers… hmmm

Did anyone notice?

Daniel has blogged three times in one week!!!! CRAZY… guess I’d better step up my game! haha

Weekend Update

I’m still sick! I really feel like I’m nearing the end of it though… felt like absolute doo-doo Friday, then lost my voice Saturday and have been working ever since to get it back! Sound like I’m a middle school boy going through puberty right now! haha

Other than that… good weekend!

Friday night made the decision to skip Megan and Kristin’s concert (just knew that me hacking up a lung in the back of the room probably wouldn’t go over very well) and went to Southlake to see Santa with Caleb. He’s too much fun at this age… on the ride there I laughed so hard at him. He kept going “doink” and saying that hairy popcorn was hitting him and me in the head and then we would eat it! Just FYI – laughing while sick = coughing fit!

Saturday, Daniel and I hit the stores SUPER early to try and beat the crowds, managed to successfully not get stuck in long lines or traffic… got home, wrapped a bunch of presents, and then baked a few yummies for the Youth Christmas Party.

Saturday night was our Youth Christmas Party – we kicked off things right at Olive Garden. So yummy… then headed back to our house to hang out. We had an almost nice gift exchange… no clawing, scratching, or growling this year! Then hung out, ate some dessert, watched the Dark Knight, and played a few games of spoons except with forks (and no one was injured!).

Sunday we did the church thing and Daniel has his presbytery which is basically a bunch of smart dudes grilling him for an hour and a half about his doctrines and other stuff to decide whether he should really be ordained or not. He survived and did pretty well. So now it’s official… he’ll be an ordained minister! Still makes me giggle a little! haha

So that’s about it for our weekend… we’ll be super busy until Christmas… I’ll try to be a good little blogger and find time to update you on what we’re up to!
