I’m getting old…

Never really been too concerned with growing older… each birthday comes and goes and I never really give it a second thought. Until THIS year… dun dun dun!!

Yeap… turning the big 29 a week from today! AGGHGHHG I don’t know why this particular “number” has caused me to pause and think, but it has. Think it might have something to do with only having one year left of my 20’s with so much left to accomplish.

So much I thought I’d accomplish before the big 3-0… don’t get me wrong I’m not disappointed with any area in particular of my life, however I can’t help but wonder if I’ll be thinking the same thing when I turn 39.

Here’s some of the random thoughts that have plagued my psyche lately (sorry for all the transparency)…

  • Wonder if we’ll have a kid before I’m 30? Don’t want to be worried about broken hips and dentures by the time our kid’s in college.
  • Wonder if I’ll ever go skydiving or bungee jumping or anything else ridiculously crazy
  • Wonder if JourneyPointe will GROW and accomplish it’s mission to reach Luella?
  • Wonder if Daniel will still be working a job that causes his knees, back, and pretty much every part of his body down to his big toe to hurt on a daily basis? Or if he’ll die from chemical poisoning or skin cancer and leave me to raise our children alone as an old woman since I’m almost 29 NOW! haha Wow… down the road a bit, aren’t I? :)
  • Wonder if Apollo will ever be able to sleep through the night (for Daniel’s sake cuz ya’ll know I could sleep through a tornado in our bedroom and never hear the dog)?
  • Wonder if I’ll EVER finish school and get to work from home?!?
  • Wonder if I’ll ever truly make a difference…
  • Wonder if we’ll ever get to the point where were outta debt?
  • Wonder if we’ll ever get a Mac? hehe
  • Wonder if we’ll ever make it to Europe…

Funny… I’ve given Daniel such a hard time about his concerns with turning 30 and now I’m worrying a whole year earlier than he did!

Here’s to making every day count cuz next thing you know a decade has passed!!

Weekend Update

Friday – movie night at church. Only had two people outside of our people show up, but we still had a good time! Except for the unnamed flying ant-looking, vampire biting little creatures that decided to EAT ME UP!!! I was SOOO loving my bean-bag idea and was so comfortable… however had to sit on a very uncomfortable plastic chair to stay away from the bugs :( BOO

Saturday – We have had problems with my Exploder’s brakes [sigh]… Daniel and his Dad took them apart, couldn’t find anything weird, put everything back together and changed the oil! That’s LOVE… because now I’ve been given back custody of my car after a week of driving Daniel’s :) Spent the rest of the day hanging out with family by the pool and eating… good day!!

Sunday – church, then I suckered Daniel into a massive cleaning house party! He was such a good sport and cleaned the entire kitchen (including refrigerator) while I worked on the rest of the house. I’ll be forever indebted to him for that considering I’d rather clean the nastiest of toilets than clean out the refrigerator! Managed to get exactly 7 LOADS of laundry done! Pretty sure that’s my personal best record! And then went to hang out with our small group for a few hours…

Pretty decent weekend… pretty sure I’m ready for another one!

Yankees/Braves Game

My bestie Crystal scored us some incredible seats for Tuesday’s Yankees/Braves game! Pretty sure Daniel got a picture of Jeter’s nose hairs! Another dream come true for him haha… Here’s some pics…

Braves actually won! But we still had a great time. Wasn’t concerned for too long that Daniel and I were wearing Yankees t-shirts… pretty sure there were just as many Yankees fans as Braves fans! haha

My Dad and My Daniel :)

I was thinking about Father’s Day and how I’m TRULY blessed! I have a Dad who makes it super easy to know the kind of love my heavenly Father has for me. He’s got that unconditional love thing down pat and he’s, hands-down, the most selfless man I’ve ever known. My Dad always made so many sacrifices for my family and still does. I just get all teary-eyed thinking about everything that he does and what a great example he is.

So I guess you could say my expectations might have been a little high when I went husband shopping! :)   I honestly can say I believe that girls (most of the time) look for guys like their dad… And by God’s grace he dropped Daniel into my life.

I really feel that Daniel is the second most selfless man I’ve ever known. He’s constantly putting my needs above his and I’m pretty sure he would do anything for me. He stops the world around us to make sure that he really hears me and I feel valued. I know that when the times comes for him to be a father, he will make an incredible one! I know that if we ever have a daughter she will have incredibly high expectations too because her Dad will be just as amazing as mine is.

I know I’m an extremely lucky girl to have such incredible men in my life and felt the need to publicly recognize them. Hope you had a great Father’s Day Dad! And Daniel – Zimbabwe or Haiti? :)

Burn her down!!!

Yeap… I’m tired of wasting jillions of hours plowing, planting, watering, and harvesting my stupid FarmTown!! I know some of you are gasping out loud as you read this… but yeap, I just can’t bring myself to log on there anymore and waste another two hours! I just kept hanging on thinking something magical was going to happen when you reached level 30 and now I’m not even sure it ever ends… so yeah

Sorry…

Reading

Yeap yeap… I’ve been slamming back a few books lately since I LOVE to procrastinate my school stuff… God bless our library system!! I’ve posted a lot of comments recently on my reading page if you want to check it out… Some good, some not so good, some boring, some made me cry, and some were a complete waste of time… but still a good way to actually use brain cells instead of letting them rot in front of the tv haha!

Camp Memories

It would take me about 4,000 posts to even touch the surface of fun camp memories, but I’m going to try to give you the top ten that keep crossing my mind and making me smile on this otherwise gloomy first day back to work!

1) Jesse’s version of the stanky leg renamed as the Odor Limb and his impression of “Sammie” or Sid from Ice Age.

2) “Let me get that”…, “baby baby”…, and all the manly love fests going on (anthony!!)

3) Our little Katie… still want to give her a bug to put on her tongue :)

4) Our worship time on the beach led by Megan and Nick!! AMAZING! We have SUCH a talented group!!!

5) All the many dance parties going on up in the van!! Well until Courtney threw up! haha

6) Shoving 16 people in an elevator (fun until Cristen got sick) and then figuring out later that apparently you can fit many more than 16 people in an elevator, but the cable will break and then you will be fined $1,000!!! Glad we didn’t figure that one out the hard way!

7) Celebrating how incredible our Savior is with 1,300 FIRED UP teenagers!!!

8 Hearing from our students about what they’re learning, what they’re battling, and decisions they’re making!

9) Seeing our group become SOOO close! More than I’ve ever seen a group do before at camp!

10) Thinking of how this next generation of students is going to do more amazing things for Jesus than we could ever imagine!!!!

I know I’ll think of a hundred more fun memories! I’ll post more later…

One week from today…

I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by! Exactly one week from now, we will be in a van on our way to Orange Beach, Alabama with our teenagers! I’m SOOO excited I can hardly stand it.

If you remember any of my posts from last year’s camp experience, you will remember that we DEFINITELY do NOT want to repeat that ever again! This year I have made everyone SWEAR that we will NOT throw up… no one will get sick! Not even a sniffle. I’ve been praying about this since um… last year while I was cleaning up vomit at camp! ha

So these are the rules for this year…

  1. No vomiting of any kind (I’ve met my lifetime quota of cleaning up puke)
  2. No sunburn!!! Since we’ll be at the beach we will be instituting mandatory 100+ SPF breaks every 10 minutes… reasonable, right?
  3. No drowning!!! I’m thinking we’re going to take a very long rope and rope all of the students together. Hmm… that probably means they need to stay fully clothed, who wants rope burn? That keeps anyone from breaking rule #2.
  4. Lots of stalking Steve FEE!! Yes our girls know he’s married, but apparently don’t care.
  5. No one will have to miss ANY of the worship times because NO ONE will break rules #1 or #2, right? RIGHT!
  6. Everyone will meet in one of the girl’s condo’s so we don’t need a rule for the boys related to keeping their room free of all of the many different kinds of body odor’s that boys can conjure up.
  7. Everyone will obey all of the rules including obeying the buddy system, not sneaking off anywhere they’re not supposed to be, not covering anything in shaving cream, or running around naked… so we won’t have to break rule #…
  8. No yelling or reprimanding! YAY

Now that this post is the length of a research paper, I should wind it up. In a nutshell, I’m really looking forward to a great time at the beach with our students… a little fun, a little sun, mindblowing talks and worship times, and maybe I’ll come back with a tan… what more could you ask for?

My latest addiction…

yeap… I’m beginning to think I have an addictive personality… oh well

TWITTER! So much fun… it’s basically like snooping on people several times a day! For all of you who aren’t in the loop, it’s basically where people answer the question (in 140 characters or less) “What are you doing?”

You can set up an account just to read what other people are doing or you can join in the fun yourself and post what you’re doing. You can logon to a website to review all of the tweets or you can have them text-messaged to your phone…

One of the most fun or disturbing parts of twitter is I seriously believe I’m friends with the people I subscribe to. Sure I subscribe to a bunch of people I do know and actually am friends with: hubby, family, teens, friends… but I also subscribe to celebrities, random strangers, and other people I like to stalk :) I feel a certain kinship with these people since I know exactly what they ate for lunch or what movie they just finished watching… fascinates me!

Oh how the times have changed… and I’m only 28!! WOW!

Oh if you’re ever curious about “What I’m doing” you can read my tweets at www.twitter.com/tiffanymead
