I’m a Couponer
Yeap… took the plunge! I’ve been reading on blogs and such that you can save a TON of money by working the whole sales/coupon system… my friend Jessica schooled me on it this past weekend… I went to Publix for my first experience and I’m hooked!
I got $51.29 worth of groceries for $32.70!!! And I barely even tried… I’m excited to see just how much I can save when I put my mind to it… so I’ve been busy comparing grocery store sales papers and finding coupons!! Hoping to go shopping at some point this weekend… I’ll let you know how it goes!
If you’re interested, Jessica’s hooking us up with a coupon guru class! We’ll get 2-3 hours of edge-mu-cation, a ton of coupons, and other goodies… and we’ll get to have a ladies night at the same time! Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll see if I can snag you a spot!!

Weekend Update
Yeap yeap… it’s that time again! Hate it cuz it means it must be Monday
Anyways… here’s a little bit of what we were up to this weekend!
Friday – THR3E with the teens was absolutely the best one we’ve had so far… had a TON of teens, bunches of teens we didn’t know which always makes me smile
Managed to have a huge “two-hand” touch football game with no one being injured or throwing up the pizza they had just stuffed themselves on! Zack led the group in some absolutely amazing worship… dude can SANG!!! Redonkulous!!
Saturday – thought we were going to sleep in since we didn’t go to sleep until 1 something, but surprise surprise… I was up at 7! What the heck? Just makes me ill to think about it! haah
Got up, made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and Daniel got busy on Caleb’s birthday cake! Which turned out AMAZING!!! So proud… and I helped! haha Really I just cleaned up after him and made sure he had every supply he needed at his becking call… good team we make! Here’s a pic…

Went to Caleb’s birthday party… we had so much fun jumping in Caleb’s bouncy thing that I’m pretty sure we should rent one for Daniel’s birthday in November! haha
Headed over to Danny and Cindy’s for dinner… RIBS YUM!! Hung around and chit-chatted with them for awhile, then headed to the grocery store for a few necessaries… and then home!
Sunday – up bright and early for church… JP is especially rockin’ it lately! Loved Jay’s Elijah series… kinda depressed that it’s over! We’ve had soo many people show up lately. Told Daniel yesterday that I’m LOVIN this whole not knowing everybody thing
Had an Outreach meeting after church which turned into quite the fiasco… we were pretty scatterbrained but that usually does wonders for creativity!
Managed to get in a nap while Daniel made my Aunt Cindy’s baked beans recipe (OH MY GOSH GOOD!!) for our small group. We have such a great group!! We have so much fun together
Got home and decided we would mellow out for a little bit. Didn’t even turn the tv on… Daniel read and I colored an amazing picture of Cinderella! haha I swear coloring is one of the best stress relievers… except that it made me a little homesick
All those memories of my sisters (and Dad hehe) coloring together!
Anyways… pretty good weekend all around!

Lonely Blog
As you probably figured out… the adoption is taking up all of my extra time
ALREADY and we haven’t even really started anything yet! haha
Anyways, might want to look for posts over at www.meadadoption.com since that’s where most of my “posting” is taking place… I’ll try not to abandon this site altogether

We’re Adopting!!
Yeap you read that right! Daniel and I have decided to adopt a baby…
Kinda been a long time coming but here’s the short of it!
About a year and a half ago I started falling in love with the whole idea of adoption. I kept quickly talking myself out of it because I’ve heard so many horror stories about how the process can take forever and can cost a FORTUNE! But I still couldn’t shake the idea of it all as hard as I tried.
Began to start feeling like God was trying to tell me that this IS the way he wants us to go earlier this year. He pretty much assaulted me at youth camp this year to the point where I gave in and said “Ok God if this is what you want for us, you’ll make Daniel feel the same way, the money will show up, and you’ll take care of all of the thousands of details!”
Anyway, I brought it up to Daniel one day and he kinda looked at me a little funny and asked me if I was serious. Little did I know, Daniel had been fighting the same battle for about a year himself and was praying that I would feel the same way! We really do communicate very well, I promise! haha
So we decided to think and pray about it together and do some research… after a few months we have decided that this is the way we should go!! We are just absolutely giddy and everybody keeps telling me that I’m glowing! haha
I’m still pretty emotional about the whole thing and just so proud of us for being willing to take this HUGE leap of faith! Sorry to toot our own horn! haha
I just feel like this is such a great example of what God did for us… he took something that was unwanted and had no chance at life and ADOPTED us. He made us HIS children and gave us a REAL LIFE! I’m just so thrilled that we get to be a part of this!
I’ll post more details soon and am working on a website to keep everybody up to date with the process, our prayer needs, and someday pictures of our baby!!!

“Week” Update
Well since I’ve been a bad, bad blogger this week… I’ll make up for it with a “week” update! Of course all of this is what happened during our evenings cuz you just don’t even want to know what all I do all day at work!! Suffice it to say that I don’t think finally having a new boss is going to free me up to actually get “my” job done!!
- Monday – had to do some serious catch-up grocery shopping. Spent about two week’s worth of grocery money, but oh well… studied the rest of the night away
- Tuesday – Daniel got a last minute call from his sister that she had free Lexis-level Braves tickets including a parking pass… I had to decline and be Ms. Responsible since I had a test to take and a final to study for. Anthony K. went to keep him company. Worked out good for everybody… For some reason, I’m much more productive when Daniel’s not around haha
- Wednesday – youth leader meeting, then fusion, then home! We played a quick little match of parcheesi (which Daniel won AGAIN… what’s the deal?), and then off to bed-y-bye, none to early!
- Thursday – found a deal for Maggiano’s so we headed up to Perimeter Mall for date night! SOOOO much fun! Maggiano’s was amazing as always, then we walked around Perimeter for an hour or two… and managed to walk away from several would-have-been very fun purchases… trying to save money!
All around a great date night… I’m so glad there’s no one on earth I’d rather spent time with!! - Tonight… dun dun dun!! It’s final night… yeap taking a final!!! I hate these stupid things… I work myself almost into a panic attack over them for about 3 months. So either way tonight hopefully I’ll be breathing a sigh of relief and won’t feel like there’s 79 pounds worth of pressure on my shoulders anymore… well until time to start the next class! Thinking I’m celebrating after that by going to see the late showing of The Time Traveler’s Wife!
I’ll let you know how all that goes and about our crazily, busy weekend coming up! I think I just made up a word…

Weekend Update
So… this weekend we headed up to North Carolina for a little R&R with my family. It’s always sooo nice to get away… especially to my parents house. I told them that they are our own little getaway. Had a lot of relaxation time… stayed in our pjs until late in the afternoon, played about 14 games of parcheesi, watched LOTS of shark week, headed out for a baseball game (where we were so close we all flinched everytime the ball came our way!), and built a “practice” cake for Caleb’s birthday…
So all in all it was a great weekend! Hate that it’s over already! They always go too quick… now off to start the week!

I’m about to panic
Yeah so definitely feeling the pressure today! This is what I have to do TODAY!!!!! not including my work stuff done between now and 4:30 when I leave…
- go to home depot to find two pipes and washer something or others for Caleb’s cake
- go to Target to see if they have any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figurines
- go to Michael’s to pick up fancy icing colors or something I’m not really quite sure of… hope it’s easy to figure out when I get there! haha oh crap that reminds me… guess I need to find some large cardboard something to put the cake on
- go to Walmart, pick up cake mixes, a bunch of cans of icing, try to find decorating tips, etc. and anything else I remember we need before going out of town tomorrow…
- hopefully find time to tan since I’m wasting my gift certificate days
- do one lesson of ICD-9-CM stuff (approx. 2 hours), study for the next test (approx. 1 hr), take the test (usually takes 2 hours just to take test Agghghg)
- bake the “practice cake” for this weekend
- do laundry (and I’ll just tell you my closet is PILED HIGH)
- Clean the house from top to bottom so Rachel doesn’t run away screaming when she comes to stay for the weekend to dog sit
- Give Apollo a bath and wash his pillow
- Change out the cat litter and clean up the cat’s “litter decorations” she manages to scatter all over the place
- Do the powerpoint for Sunday’s music
- Get all the moldy food out of the refrigerator so Rachel doesn’t throw up when she opens it
- Gather up all the trash for trash day
- Find Daniel’s birth certificate
- PACK for the weekend
- Watch the So You Think You Can Dance finale
So yeah… pretty sure my blood pressure’s rising!

I sleepy…
So I remember why I stopped working 10-12 hour days! I’m freakin’ tired!! Up here in Henry world, they decided to cut our vacation time in half… better than laying off people, for sure, but still a little… grrr…
Anyways, that means that I can’t just take off days willy nilly like I used to! Gone are the days of Daniel constantly holding us down because he didn’t have much vacation time. Now I’m sharing in his misery
So that said… now I’m working 10-12 hour days this week so I can be off Friday. It will be well worth it because we’re headed to NC to see the fam this weekend, HOWEVER in the meantime my eyelids won’t perk up. I feel like I’m squinting until about 2 in the afternoon. Even caffeine’s not really making a difference…
At least I only have one more day left to work, then a 3 day weekend. YAY!
Just hope I won’t sleep through the whole thing catching up on all my missed sleep this week…
